Photo, Film & Drone

Photography and filming is generally permitted from the hiking trails and observation stands. Anything beyond this must be applied to the Müritz National Park Authority for permission.

Exemptions from the prohibitions of the National Park Ordinance are generally only possible if there is a predominantly public interest. This must be justified in such a case.

The use of Drones is prohibited in the entire national park.

Mushroom pickers

Mushroom picking

Mushrooms play a still strongly underestimated role in the ecosystem! Mushroom picking is allowed for personal use in thedevelopment zones.

Park your vehicle at designated parking spaces only!

Mushroom picking is forbidden in thecore zone.

The core zones are marked on the maps of the National Park information board with red shaded areas. Core zones are signposted in the terrain.

The following rules apply throughout the Müritz National Park

Parking space

Park at designated parking spaces
Drive on roads open to public traffic and observe traffic restrictions such as "Free for residents" and "Authorized persons free". Use the environmentally friendly local transport with Müritz rundum.

Do not leave paths

Stay on the marked paths

More than 450 km of hiking paths and 270 km of cycling routes will lead you through the wild nature. Cycling on the designated hiking trails disturbs visitors who are on foot. Use the signposted cycling trails for your tours.

Keep quiet

Behave quietly

On the way you will find numerous observation facilities. Behave quietly and considerately. Your chance to see animals increases thereby!

Dogs on leash

Leash your dog

Even the most loyal pet will stop obeying if it encounters a hare, fox or deer. Spare the wild animals the dangerous chase and your dog the danger of disappearing in the forest.

Do not take from nature

Do not take from nature

All living creatures in the national park are protected. They must not be harmed. Every animal, plant and mushroom has a role in the ecosystem. Mushroom and berry picking is therefore allowed only for personal use in the development zone of the national park.

Do not leave waste behind

Do not leave waste behind

Garbage in the national park is not only an unpleasant sight. Beverage cans or plastic strings can become a deadly trap for wildlife. Take all of the things you have brought back with you.

Open fire prohibited

Do not smoke in the forest

Open fires are prohibited, including cigarettes. A carelessly discarded cigarette stub may start a forest fire. From forest fire danger level 5, local closures of forest areas can take place.

Camping in designated campgrounds only

Camping in designated campgrounds only
Camping in the national park is prohibited. Use the official camping facilities. You can find an overview of national park-friendly hosts at Müritz National Park-Partner.

Drone flight ban

Do not use drones
Air sovereignty in the National Park belongs to the birds. It is forbidden to use aircraft and model aircraft of any kind. Birds and other animals perceive them as a threat. Here you can find the leaflet about the Drone regulation.

Nature also means danger

Attention! Nature also means danger!
Falling trees and branches must be expected at all times. The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is not held liable for these dangers emanating from the forest in the national park. Enter at your own risk. (§ 28 Entering the forest, Forest law M-V).
